What Your Job Will Be Like:
For the summer of 2025, we are seeking an engineering graduate
student interested in cross-disciplinary engineering exposure as
part of supporting our unique mission space: the safe and secure
transportation of our nation's most vital assets. In the area of
safe, secure transportation, we have opportunities for individuals

Salary Range:

earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned
credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will
be determined during the hire process and included in your offer

About Our Team:
The Transportation Safeguards and Surety Program has responsibility
for developing technical solutions that ensure the safety and
security of the nation's nuclear assets during over the road
shipment. With capabilities spanning the R-D-A spectrum, the team
enables America's nuclear deterrence through sustainment of the
existing fleet of Safeguards Transporters (SGT) while developing
the next generation Mobile Guardian Transporters (MGT). In support
of those primary missions, our team leads assessments of safety and
security vulnerabilities and conducts research and development in
resilient structural design, secure communications, and access
delay technologies. As part of our initiative to grow our national
leadership in transportation technology, we are recruiting a team
of interns to join our Research Institution for Transportation
Safety and Security at Sandia (RITS3). If you have a passion for

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and
background review that includes checks of personal references,

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as
a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or
diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring,
and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if
employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to
comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview
at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps
necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements
prior to the interview date.
